Ultrasound scans

Our Specialist MSK Doctor and Consultand Radiologist at The StoneHouse Clinic can perform Ultrasound scans to give us a picture of your muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.  It can be used to diagnose sprains, strains, tears and other soft tissue conditions. It is completely safe and noninvasive.

Our ultrasound scans are commonly used to help diagnose:

- tendon tears, or tendinitis
- muscle tears
- ligament sprains or tears
- inflammation or fluid in the bursae and joints
- early changes of rheumatoid arthritis
- nerve entrapments such as carpel tunnel syndrome
- lumps and bumps such as benign and malignane soft tissue tumours and soft tissue masses
- ganglion cysts
- DVTs

You should wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing for your ultrasound exam and be prepared to remove clothing in the area to be examined.

You will be able to see the results of the ultrasound examination on the screen and your Doctor will explain the results to you together with your options going forward. The examination itself will usually take between 10 minutes and 30 minutes.

If you would like to book an Ultrasound examination with a Doctor at The StoneHouse Clinic, Hartham Park, Corsham (near Bath and Chippenham) then please contact us.
